Why Maun Ekadashi matters

Tradition holds that 150 kalyanaks of Tirthankaras, across the past, present and future cycles of all the regions of the Jain universe, fell on this tithi. In the present cycle of Bharat kshetra, Bhagwan Mallinath was born, took diksha and attained Kevalgyan on it, Bhagwan Naminath attained Kevalgyan and Bhagwan Aranath took diksha.

Devotees keep Upvas and silence (maun) for the whole day and night, and count a rosary of the 150 kalyanaks. The story of Suvrat Sheth is read.
