Paush Dashami 2026
Paush Dashami does not fall in 2026. The next Paush Dashami is on 2 January 2027. Paush Dashami (Posh Dashmi, Magshar Vad 10 in the Gujarati calendar) is the Janma Kalyanak of Bhagwan Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara.
Bhagwan Parshvanath
Parshvanath was born in Varanasi to King Ashvasena and Queen Vama, about 250 years before Mahavir, and attained Nirvana on Sammed Shikharji. He is shown with the hood of a serpent above his head.
Many Shwetambar Jains keep Ekasana on the three days of Navami, Dashami and Ekadashi, and large fairs are held at Shankheshwar and other Parshvanath tirths.
About This Content
Jain festival and parva tithi dates are calculated by the Vedic Tithi engine from the tithi at sunrise (udaya tithi) at your location; Paryushan and Samvatsari keep India's date. Our automated tests compare these dates with a leading published panchang for New Delhi, New York and Vancouver. Gachchhas and sanghs sometimes differ by a day, so follow your own sangh's announcement where it differs. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.
