Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

How accurate are your Panchang calculations?

Accepted Answer

Our Panchang calculations use the Swiss Ephemeris, the industry-standard precision ephemeris used by professional astrologers worldwide. We combine this with the Lahiri Ayanamsa system and traditional Vedic principles to ensure astronomical accuracy within seconds of arc. All calculations are location-specific, accounting for geographic position, timezone, and daylight saving time.

Question 2

What is Swiss Ephemeris and why do you use it?

Accepted Answer

Swiss Ephemeris is the most accurate and widely used astronomical calculation engine in professional astrology. It provides precise planetary positions and is used by NASA, professional astrologers, and astronomical software worldwide. We use it to ensure our Panchang, Muhurat, and Kundali calculations are based on exact astronomical data.

Question 3

What is Lahiri Ayanamsa?

Accepted Answer

Lahiri Ayanamsa (also called Chitrapaksha Ayanamsa) is the standard ayanamsa system recommended by the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences for Vedic astrology. It defines the relationship between the tropical and sidereal zodiacs and is essential for accurate Vedic astrological calculations.

Question 4

Who is behind the astrology content on Vedic Tithi?

Accepted Answer

Our astrology team advises on readings, interpretations and traditional practices: Astrologer Milit Dubey (Vedic Astrologer), Manjuu J Singh (Vedic Astrologer), Chandna S (Life Coach). Panchang, festival and muhurat timings come from our calculation engine, which automated tests compare with a leading published panchang.

Question 5

How do you calculate Muhurat timings?

Accepted Answer

Muhurat timings are calculated using Swiss Ephemeris for precise planetary positions, combined with traditional Vedic methodologies from classical texts like Muhurta Chintamani and Brihat Samhita. We provide multiple systems including Daily Muhurat, Choghadiya, Hora, and Gowri Panchangam, all calculated using time-tested Vedic principles.

Question 6

Are Kundali calculations location-specific?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely. Kundali (birth chart) calculations require precise birth time and location. We use Swiss Ephemeris to calculate exact planetary positions for your specific birth coordinates and time, ensuring accurate Dasha periods, planetary positions, and chart divisions.

Question 7

What experience do your astrologers have?

Accepted Answer

Astrologer Milit Dubey (Vedic Astrologer): professional experience of more than 10 years in Astrology and other planets reading areas. Manjuu J Singh (Vedic Astrologer): Gold medalist in Vedic Astrology. Also practises energy Vastu, numerology (including name and mobile numerology) and chakra healing. Chandna S (Life Coach): Aligns life's spiritual journey with spiritual Growth

Question 8

Which chart systems do you support?

Accepted Answer

We support the two most widely used Vedic chart styles: North Indian (diamond-shaped chart) and South Indian (square chart with fixed house positions). Both styles show the same astrological information in different visual formats based on regional preferences.

Question 9

How are Dasha periods calculated?

Accepted Answer

Vimshottari Dasha periods are calculated using classical Vedic methods from Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. The calculations are based on your Moon's Nakshatra position at birth, determining the sequence and timing of planetary periods throughout your life.

Question 10

Why does Panchang vary by location?

Accepted Answer

Panchang elements like Tithi, Nakshatra, and Yoga are based on sunrise time (varies by geographic location), local time (different timezones), and Moon's position (appears at different positions from different locations). This is why the Panchang for Mumbai differs from that of New York.

Question 11

What is the difference between Tithi and Date?

Accepted Answer

A Tithi is a lunar day based on the Moon's position relative to the Sun, while a calendar date is a solar day. One Tithi can span two calendar dates, or two Tithis can occur in one date. Tithis are used in Vedic astrology and Hindu calendar for determining auspicious times and festival dates.

Question 12

What is the difference between Choghadiya and Hora?

Accepted Answer

Choghadiya divides day/night into 8 periods each, based on sunrise/sunset, used primarily for travel and general activities. Hora divides day into 24 planetary hours, each ruled by a planet, used for specific activities based on planetary influences. Both are authentic Vedic systems.

Question 13

Can I use Muhurat timings from a different city?

Accepted Answer

Muhurat timings are location-specific because they're based on local sunrise and sunset. For best results, always use timings calculated for your actual location. Using timings from another city (especially if far away) may give incorrect auspicious periods.

Question 14

Is Vedic Tithi free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Vedic Tithi provides free access to daily Panchang, Muhurat timings, basic Kundali generation, and educational content. We believe ancient Vedic wisdom should be accessible to everyone.
