The three Chaumasi Pratikramans
Shwetambar Jains perform Pratikraman daily (Devsi and Raisi), every fortnight on Chaudas (Pakkhi), every four months (Chaumasi) and once a year on Samvatsari. Chaumasi Pratikraman confesses the faults of the past four months.
Ashadha Chaumasi Chaudas begins Chaturmas, when monks and nuns stop travelling for the rainy season; Kartika Chaumasi Chaudas ends it.
