What is Das Lakshana Parva?

The Tattvartha Sutra names ten dharmas, or qualities of the soul: forgiveness, humility, straightforwardness, purity, truthfulness, self-restraint, austerity, renunciation, non-possessiveness and celibacy, each called 'uttam' (supreme). Das Lakshana Parva gives one day to each.

Digambar Jains worship in the temple, recite the Tattvartha Sutra (one chapter each day), fast and listen to discourses on the day's dharma.

Sugandh Dashami and Anant Chaturdashi

The sixth day, Bhadrapada Shukla Dashami, is Sugandh (Dhoop) Dashami, when incense is offered in the temples. The last day, Anant Chaturdashi, closes the parva; many keep a fast on it.

The day after the parva is Kshamavani, the Digambar day of forgiveness, when Jains ask forgiveness of one another.
