About This Stotram
Srimad Bhagawad Gita Chapter 9
Sanskrit Title: श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता मूलम् - नवमोऽध्यायः
IAST Transliteration:
Overview
Chapter 9 of the Bhagawad Gita is considered highly significant as it reveals the essence of devotion (Bhakti Yoga) and the supreme knowledge (Raja Vidya) of the Divine. Lord Krishna describes Himself as the source of all existence, the sustainer of the universe, and the ultimate refuge. He emphasizes that by dedicating all actions to Him with devotion, one can attain Him. This chapter highlights the concept of 'Bhakti' as the most accessible and potent path to liberation, transcending even the knowledge of rituals and austerities. It teaches that the Divine is immanent in all beings and yet transcendent, and that sincere devotion, even to a small degree, is highly valued. The chapter also addresses the apparent paradox of the Divine being both the creator and the creation, and the means by which one can perceive this truth.
