Tallapaka Annamacharya (1408–1503 CE) was born in Tallapaka village in the Cuddapah (Kadapa) district of Andhra Pradesh and devoted his life to composing devotional songs at the Tirumala temple. He composed over 32,000 sankirtanas, of which a significant number deal directly with the Tirumala hills and Lord Venkateswara. His works were preserved on copper plates at the temple and rediscovered in the 20th century. The composition belongs to the Vaishnava Bhakti tradition of the Vijayanagara period.
