How to Add the Panchang Widget to Your Website
Adding the widget takes about two minutes: copy the embed code, paste it into an HTML or embed block on your site, and publish. The steps below cover the most common site builders.
1. Get your embed code
Open the widget page, choose your city, theme and language, and click Copy code. The code has two parts: the widget itself, and a short "Panchang by Vedic Tithi" line under it. Paste both.
Open the widget builderExample code (New Delhi, light theme, English)
<iframe src="https://vedictithi.com/widget/panchang?city=new-delhi&theme=light&lang=en" width="340" height="390" style="border:0;max-width:100%" loading="lazy" title="Today's Panchang for New Delhi"></iframe>
<p style="font:12px/1.4 sans-serif;margin:4px 0 0">Panchang by <a href="https://vedictithi.com/panchang/city/new-delhi">Vedic Tithi</a></p>2. Paste it into your site
WordPress
- Open the page or post in the block editor.
- Click + to add a block and choose Custom HTML.
- Paste the code, then click Preview to check it.
- Click Update or Publish.
WordPress.com sites can only show embedded widgets on plans that allow custom code. Self-hosted WordPress sites work on any plan.
Wix
- Open the page in the Wix Editor.
- Click Add Elements (+), then Embed Code, then Embed HTML.
- Click Enter Code, choose Code, paste the code and click Update.
- Drag the box's corner until the whole widget shows (about 340 × 420 pixels), then publish.
Squarespace
- Edit the page and click an insert point (+).
- Choose Code.
- Paste the code, make sure HTML is selected, and click outside the block.
- Click Save.
If your plan doesn't allow Code blocks, add an Embed block instead and paste the code under Code snippet.
Google Sites
- Open the page and choose Insert, then Embed.
- Open the Embed code tab, paste the code and click Next.
- Click Insert, then drag the box's edges until the whole widget shows.
- Click Publish.
Blogger
- Open Layout and click Add a Gadget in the sidebar or section you want.
- Choose HTML/JavaScript.
- Paste the code into the Content box and click Save.
- Click View blog to check it.
To put the widget inside a post instead, switch the post editor to HTML view and paste the code there.
Any other website
- Open the page's HTML in your editor or site builder.
- Paste the code where the widget should appear.
- Save and publish the page.
Most other builders, such as Weebly, GoDaddy and Jimdo, have an Embed, HTML or Code element that works the same way.
3. Change the city, theme or language
The easiest way is to make a new code in the widget builder. You can also edit the address in the code you already pasted: it ends with city=…&theme=…&lang=…
| Setting | Values |
|---|---|
| city | A city from the builder's list, written as in its address, such as new-delhi, mumbai, toronto or london |
| theme | light or dark |
| lang | en (English), hi (Hindi), mr (Marathi), gu (Gujarati), bn (Bengali), or (Odia), ta (Tamil), te (Telugu), kn (Kannada), ml (Malayalam) |
The widget fits a box 340 pixels wide and 390 pixels high. It also stretches to fill a wider box, and it shrinks to fit narrow phone screens.
Troubleshooting
Nothing appears where I pasted the code
Some site builders remove embedded content on free plans or in ordinary text blocks. Paste the code into an HTML, Code or Embed block rather than a text block, and check that your plan allows embeds.
The bottom of the widget is cut off
Increase height="390" in the code to 420 or 450, or drag the embed box taller in your site builder. Long names in some languages need a little more room.
The times look wrong
Check the city in the code. Every time is calculated for that city and shown in its local time zone, so a widget set to New Delhi shows Indian times even on a site in Canada.
It shows English instead of my language
Check that the address in the code ends with the right lang value, such as lang=ta for Tamil. Unknown values fall back to English.
The "Panchang by Vedic Tithi" line is missing
Some builders keep only the first part of pasted code. Add the line back as text under the widget, with Vedic Tithi linked to vedictithi.com. Please keep this line: it keeps the widget free.
Does it update by itself?
Yes. The widget shows today's Panchang for the city you chose and refreshes at least every hour. There's nothing to update on your side.
